A Child’s Halloween

Oh, to relive those childish nights

Filled with treats of such delight

Good fun found in good fright

A haunted path lit by streetlight

In costume and masked protection

We search out each small confection

Dumping out our prized collection

A required parental inspection

With treasured treats and tricks well-played

We review our haul and make a grade

For those we deem fit for trade

Chocolatier’s dreams on parade

This hallowed and enchanting eve

Full of fun and make believe

Where ghosts and ghouls interweave

With candy smeared on costumed sleeve

this poem brings back such good memories of Halloween as a kid (so does the photo!)
