The Losing of You

It is a disconnect

A sinister flaw

So hard to detect

Invisible to all

Hard to share

Harder to explain

A whispered prayer

To avoid the pain

Each love lost

Be it family or friend

Comes at a cost

To me in the end

Another brick in place

To hold them at bay

A protected space

A less caring way

More than numb

Borderline dead

Some fear undone

Trapped in my head

If by chance I were

To let someone through

Not sure I can endure

The losing of you

Tooooo good Brad. A Whispered prayer to avoid the pain…so true.
After dealing with the pain of losing my parents for years I came to a conclusion that time really never heals…

Thank you dear Meena! Time will never eliminate the hole left by our loss, but the pain does diminish over time. It just never completely goes away and maybe it is not supposed to. Thank you for reading and commenting!

Beautifully poignant , a yearning, an evocative plea like a surrender , succumbing to fear maybe but I feel also a sense of optimism. A sense of not giving up. I like that. It’s a great verse , Brad. I likey..
