Love Light

There’s a certain modicum

In the people we become

Forgetting of where we’re from

A lacking most troublesome

Love not found in what we’ve seen

Who we are or who we’ve been

Down life’s path we do careen

Kindness absent from the scene

This is not how we were made

To cast others in our shade

Treatment based on some earned grade

Regardless of the dues they paid

Meant to hold each other strong

To join our voices in song

A promise no night be long

A human and caring throng

So be the best that’s in you

Give love when love is not due

Let the light brightly shine through

And be seen in all that you do
