Oil and Vinegar
I sat down for my hunger to sate
Eyeing the freshly made salad plate
Though plenty to eat, I wanted to savor
Something replete with a little more flavor
I could dress this gardened menagerie
Drizzle flavor onto greened imagery
But Roquefort and ranch eliminate
The other flavors on the plate
I needed something light and fine
Like vinegar made from red wine
And an extra virgin olive oil
To flavor blessings from the soil
Just adding the oil wonβt do the trick
Alone it just makes everything slick
The vinegar is needed to coincide
And bring out a more flavorful side
And as well as they worked as a pair
Flavoring this simple vegetable fare
Being kept separate is the fix
For these two do not easily mix
When added in the right measure
They gift the mouth with such pleasure
Yet when it is all said and done
The two will never be as one
What a flavoured poetry. You give meaning and life to simple day to day stuffs. And that’s the beauty. π
Very kind of you to say and your support is greatly appreciated!
Those flavors are just yumm !! π
could argue this is an analogy about the benefits of diversification – each one bringing their own strengths to the table, without compromise, and the result is something better than individually…
That is a lovely way to see this and I could not argue that analogy. It actually started from a failed collaboration where I was reminded that not everything blends together well, even though they are useful individually and tasty together, they will never mix into one homogenized creation. Thanks Jim!
and sometimes when things are blended together they may lose their sense of independence and contribution.
It was a good learning experience, and I know you can appreciate that! Thanks for commenting! Have fun on your trip!
thanks, Brad!
Wonderful. Bringing art and beauty to the mundane and everyday xx
