One God, One Love
No matter whom your chosen Lord
Or what gifts in death be reward
Whatever path your faith has trod
What word and face you use for God
The tenets all remain the same
In each Savior, by any name
Even Spirit, Father and Son
Must be seen as your only One
For none allow idolatry
Two Gods is just one too many
And we cannot give Them their due
If earthly things we worship too
Those with less pray to make the rent
Others think Rolex Heaven sent
Pass around the collection plate
Money is what we venerate
We praise the latest status quo
How else will others really know
Wealth a financial confession
Holiness seen in possession
Every text or religious tome
Deifies only God alone
Commands we care for each other
Demands we share with our brother
If the greatest of what They ask
We refuse to take on as task
Then forget all the other sin
And pray you can buy your way in
On point! That’s all I can say right now!
You say it well, Brad. Bravo 👏
Thank you, Yasmin!
You are welcome, Brad 😊
The definition of faith and its relation to humanity is wonderfully captured. Another great work 😊
One love brother
Rolex heaven—that made me laugh.
Thanks, Pete!
Terrific piece!
Thank you, Ms. G!
as great as capitalism has been, there’s a lot to be said for socialism, or at least a kinder and gentler form of capitalism…
I am all for kinder and gentler. Thanks, Jim!
