Though shouted from the source

The words of love you profess

Through life’s peaked and valleyed course

Each echo is heard a little less

A short-lived ode given in refrain

Resounding off mountain’s crest

In the distance, volume wanes

Each echo is heard a little less

In time and space, you run away

Longevity the hardest test

Love a whisper of what you say

Each echo is heard a little less

Spoken clear from the highest peak

The prayers to above that you confess

Just a ghost of the words you speak

Each echo is heard a little less

Now some distance blocks the sound

Your oaths have been digressed

And in that silence, I am found

Each echo is given peaceful rest

    This is beautiful. Very touching

  3. I have always found echoes to be mystical. Sometimes we can’t recognise our own voice, irrespective of the way we feel we sound or the technology. But the idea of your voice travelling trough space and bouncing back to you is like magic. Your work makes me thoughtful 😊
