If Love Was

If love was just light

You would be like high noon

If love was the night

You would be the full moon

If love was a song

You would be stuck in head

If love was so wrong

You would be marked in red

If love was a scene

You would be painted dream

If love was between

You would be stitching seam

If love was refrain

You would be the soft tune

If love was in rain

You would be the monsoon

If love was felt cold

You would be glacial chill

If love was worth gold

You would be priceless still

If love was a ship

You would be the high seas

If love was tropic

You would be cooling breeze

If love was unknown

You would be the finder

If love was unshown

You would be reminder

If love was present

You would be here for me

If love heaven sent

You’d be eternity

not often that you see “stitching seam” in a love poem, or any poem for that matter. Well done, Brad!

  12. missed reading your poetry! this is so beautiful and pleasing to read! as a beginner in writing poems i find it hard to write constantly i only write when i feel to, is there anything you may advise me to do and also i was wondering who is your favourite poet? and thank you so much!

    • Brad Osborne says:

Thank you, Khadija! You are too kind. It is difficult for most writers to write consistently. Even I have days where I write three or four poems, and other days I don’t write any. If you do not feel moved to write, then forcing yourself to will not result in your best work. Probably the best advice I can give is to make time to write. If something comes to you when you are at your desk, great! If not, that’s okay too. My favorite poet is Dylan Thomas, although I could never really pick one. Thanks for reading and commenting. Best wishes! 😊

  13. Graymand says:

This is beautiful. I wish I could write like you β™₯️

    • Brad Osborne says:

Thank you for your kind words, Graymand! The cool thing is you can. There is no trick to it. Step one – Read all you can. It will grow your vocabulary, you will learn styles and types of writing you enjoy, and you will find what fits your expression the best. Step two – Write! Write all the time. Practice your art and I promise you will find all the beauty that is in you. Thanks for your support and appreciation. Glad to have you here!

  14. Lovely. Love is indeed beautiful ❀️.
