New Man
Would you still see who I used to be
For, since then, I surely did grow
Would those brown eyes still visualize
A heart you no longer know
Would you think back to the younger man
The failures and follies held still
For nothing changes things like time can
Or wise introspection will
Would you hold true to what you have known
The person you well recall
Or would you see new flower grown
Changes found in each petal
For if to you, Iβm the same old view
Then you look on memory
For time has passed, as time must do
And time made a new man of me
Anything is possible thru this great reflection.
Thank you!

This made me introspective for a moment. After all, βArt shouldΒ comfort theΒ disturbedΒ and disturbΒ the comfortable.β
And true, time and change are the power duo. I love this piece.
Thanks Matt! Time and a willingness to change can lead to a lot of different places.
Yeah, time and ‘willingness to change’. Because the more we resist change, the more we’ll get trapped.
Beautifully written. I love the ending so true and so lovely told. I like your style Brad it is different. Your timing is perfect that canβt be easy to master. Have a blessed day. Love and hugs Joni
Change is so readily easy to write about. It is something that everyone has experienced which makes it so relatable. Thank you for your kind words and undying support, Joni! β€π
Truly my pleasure. Love π Joni.
I wrote you a book for a comment and then deleted it. You’ve touched on a subject that I can & have spent hours discussing. Time & life are very peculiar, always the same in a relative way, but changing everything they touch. A very relatable and well written post, Brad! β€
I wanted to read that book. But I will be happy that you found something relatable, that spoke to you. Time and life are easy subjects as they are universal and concrete, but also highly unpredictable. Thanks for all the love, K! β€π
Eh, I have a terrible habit of getting side tracked in long commentsπ€£π It was headed in a direction that was mostly about me, and that’s not what I wanted. I came here to give you much earned love & praise, because you’re a phenomenal writer, not tell you my life story; Although, it is very relatable. That’s the the thing about you though, you have a wonderful gift for drawing in readers through relatable content in just a few short lines or stanzas. It’s a beautiful thing, reading you. β€π
I am going to get all those secrets out of you eventually, you might as well give in now…π€£π Thank you for the love, my dear friend! β€ππ
Haha. I have no issues telling you anything, we’d need more time and bigger space than a WordPress comment box though. Always, you have my love & support, always. π₯°β€π
You know how to reach me and I can feel your love and support every day! It ranks right up there with morning coffee or the kiss of a beautiful woman. It enlivens me and comforts me at the same time. Probably why I feel like I can never get enough! πππβ€
Awww, you are so sweet, Dear Brad! I should warn you though, I’m a bit of a challenge. I am not one to just start talking about myself, unless you touch on something I’m passionate about, and then you’ll regret ever asking me to open up. Lol.
You don’t scare me. “Challenge” is my middle name. π And I don’t foresee the possibility of that specific regret. The regret would be in the never knowing should silence prevail. Just a reminder, Kevin’s poem posts tomorrow! Plus you have to keep coming back to read my poems. I am finding ever more entertaining ways to leave you little Easter eggs in them. At least, I find them entertaining, but alas I have the mind of a child…π Love and more love β€
Oh, Brad, I love your childlike mind. As if I’d ever stop reading your poetry. You’ve been added to my list of favorite poets, I can’t not read it. I’ve been looking forward to Thursday since you told me about Kevin’s poem. It is ridiculous how excited I am! Now I want to make it a mission to leave you little Easter eggs. Game on, my friend!
Make them bright colors because of the childlike mind thing. Am I evil? Now that I know I have your attention, I suddenly want to push the date back just to tease you. Kind of pay back for having to wait for each chapter of your story. Yeah, that is definitely evil, and even I am not that bad. If Jessica found this poem by accident, it would heart squeeze her to death! ππ
I will do my best. Yes, teasing is one thing, telling me you’re going to do something & taking it back is pure evil!I’m sure Jessica will be very pleased with Kevin’s poem. She does love those heart squeezes! ππ
More true words of you could not be written! I’ve been blessed to have watched changes in you occur over your life, and even now, I see them happening. You don’t need my praise, but I couldn’t be more proud of the man you have become and are still becoming! Love you!
Loving you back with no end, sis! β€β€β€
Beautiful poem Brad. Time changes us and you expressed that in a way that touched my heart.

Thank you, Yassy! π
You welcome, Brad π
a beautiful poem; it’s a shame if someone goes through “wise introspection” and people still see the person the way they used to be…
A true inspiration and a beautiful poem results! “For nothing changes things like time can” so true my friend, so true. You are an amazing writer Brad and your ideas are so meaningful and real. I truly appreciate your work! Great writing!
All the best from Spain,
Francisco
Thank you, Francisco!
My pleasure Brad!

This would truly be magical if it could happen π€
I believe it does. Change is one of the few constants in the world. π
