Mother’s Day

Oh, the wonders of a mother’s love

Whose eyes see us as only perfect

Who holds our heart in velvet glove

And forgives any troubled defect

Who suckles us at her loving breast

And watches over us as we sleep

The one who only sees us best

And all her promises sure to keep

She, our cherished giver of life

Whose strength is willing lent

Has sheltered us from the strife

That life has so harshly sent

So, to her now what praise we give

On this most glorious of all days

We hope the life we choose to live

Will be an honor to her, always

  1. Good morning Brad. What a beautiful tribute to mothers. You started early. The poem is fantastic. It has that beautiful and sweet touch from When Irish Eyes Are Smiling. It is not only a wonderful gift for all Mothers but it speaks volumes about you. The purity of your words speaks volumes about you. Gorgeous piece.
Have a fabulous day my friend. I did not text you yet 😊

Good morning, beautiful lady! Thank you for your kind words. I did not love this one as when it was completed, I felt like it was very forced to the subject matter. But I have never been able to discern the worth of my own words. It is the biggest bane to my writing. I rarely know what is good and what is not. That is why I rely on you, Poetess. I now you will speak from the heart, and I love you for it. Have a great day and stay strong! ❤

a wonderful tribute to Mothers everywhere, Brad! No one has our back more, and there’s no one we want to make more proud.

    Such a joyful time!

Time to celebrate life, much like Easter, a celebration of death.

Fitting for them both to come so near and even more so during this time of year. Spring for some, Fall for others.
