A Lost Soul

Failures fall before bloody feet

Mind beats the drums in retreat

There pressed upon the weary brow

A tortured spirit made to bow

Withered weight that bares the woes

A loving light left comatose

The heart, in darkness, is withheld

In lonely eyes, the tears are welled

What light can pierce the torrid night

And bring salvation to wicked plight

What saving grace beams on the face

If truth is found in the disgrace

The good lies shallow and forgot

Conspirators in a shady plot

Canaries sing the warning bell

In the depths where evils dwell

In the dark beats failing heart

As the world is torn apart

And there beneath a solemn grave

Lies the soul no one could save
