No Need

Trenchant hopes need no wings

No tiny lift from gossamer strings

No push from breeze, oh so fair

No rise from spirals of warming air

Trenchant hopes need no wings

Truest love needs not tied down

No chain to hold or wanting bound

No pull from a given gravity

No chance for real unless it’s free

Truest love needs not tied down

Trepid heart needs no sturdy wall

No sheltered life, no fear at all

No hiding from the brilliant life

No barrier to the loving light

Timid heart needs no sturdy wall

Translucent dreams need no sleep

No shuttered eyes to vision keep

No boundaries and no given rules

No logic as the wonder unspools

Translucent dreams need no sleep

Truthful words need no reason

No better time or perfect season

No bad in what’s spoken honestly

No reward unless said modestly

Truthful words need no reason

Troubled times need no ink

No sickly sip from the bitter drink

No purpose to be remembered well

No greater story for them to tell

Troubled times need no ink

Trusted friends need no praise

No thought of what kindness pays

No limit to what they can afford

No need saved you as their reward

Trusted friends need no praise

Excellent Brad. Bravo to a true poet.
“Trusted friends need no praise.” Well, I did it anyway, and I will do it again. I hope you will forgive me.
