Tuesday Tidbits #34

Welcome to the limited series, Tuesday Tidbits. A collection of quotes to provide inspiration, determination, and elevation. I hope you find something that brightens your day!

~~~
Writing poetry can be a personal indicator at times. When I see my work slanting to a particular theme or subject, I sometimes recognize something about myself or how I view the world around me, that I didn’t comprehend before. I think of it as a diagnosis by words.
~~~

You do not have to praise, repost, or glorify my words, though they are all thoughtful gifts. But the joy I get from writing is not about what I receive in return, it is the joy of giving a gift. All that is required of you is to receive it.

~~~
It is not my words that make you laugh, think, or cry. It is the memories or thoughts the words evoke that bring you to these emotions. It is within your own mind that the simple words find root and grow into something. In that way, my words are but mere seeds, having grown into nothing until they find your fertile mind’s soil.
~~~

I purposefully repeat old sayings and quips incorrectly among friends and acquaintances, often mixing them together like, “that is closing the barn door after the chicken crossed the road.” They often still get the point across, even when incorrectly referenced, and they always seem to get a laugh. It is kind of a “two birds, one stone” kind of thing.

~~~
If my words never achieve a monetary value, I still want them shared. If they do ever make any money, that money should go to the people I have written the poems about. If who they are is not obvious, then it is likely I have been overpaid for my work.
~~~

The purpose of fame, success, or fortune is to help others. If you believe it is all just for you or you need it to be, you will find that you will never have enough of any of them, or anything else for that matter.

~~~
Say what you will about me, my life, my choices, or my accomplishments and failures, but leave my words alone to speak for themselves. They are alone the best version of myself, the one I had always hoped to be.
~~~

Now get out there and write something!

  3. You are right, words are a gift intended to take off across the universe and if it is accepted it is appreciated but it is not meant as a search for acclaim or approval. Wise words indeed you have in this lovely series my friend. Great work!
