Wingless Angels

~~~
A kind smile from a stranger
The laugh of a carefree child
The eyes that seek out danger
As we traverse the wild
~~~

The helping hand when needed

The water that quenches thirst

The good advice well-heeded

As someone puts us first

~~~
The loving word of friend
That whisper in our ear
The kindness that so mends
And holds back worried fear
~~~

The sympathies when we lose

The hands that lift us high

The friendships that we choose

Who encourage us to try

~~~
Heavenly spirits loving well
Gift us these little things
For not every earthly angel
Wears a set of wings
~~~

  3. Good morning Brad. Such a beautifully written piece. I bask in its beauty and I cringe at the warning. That finale…
    Have a fabulous weekend my dear friend 🌹

  4. You’re right. Not every earthly creature wears wings. But through their acts, they show that not every angel needs wings. Beautifully written, Brad.

    Lovely as usual Brad. I love angels and believe they show up often in our lives sometimes people just don’t see them for what they are. This is so full of love, tenderness and hope. Beautiful Brad. Have an amazing day my kind and treasured friend. πŸ’–πŸ€—πŸ’•β€οΈlove Joni

  11. This is amazing writing. Good deeds, light or the heavenly shine doesn’t always come in the form of supernatural entities. A part of that essence is in us too and every act of kindness is a symbol of that. I always feel the world is brutal, but that’s just me but it does not mean we do not have kind souls in form of fellow humans. I love the last stanza. Another wonderful message Brad πŸ‘Œ
