The Kiss I Miss

I could not be the person you wanted

And with every tear you cried

I saw another failure haunted

I lost a little of me inside

I never meant to cause such pain

Had I known this from the start

I would not have been so vain

To think I could mend your heart

Like the tragedies of mythology

Our world’s balance in every turn

All I have to offer now is apology

For the hell you did not earn

If I could go back, a different way

Spare you the weight of all of this

Regret would still haunt me today

In your unremembered kiss

So, forgive the trials I put you through

Nothing ever done an evil wish

That I may forever hold onto you

In the bliss of the kiss I miss

A beautiful story that tugs at the heart strings, but then again, you have been tugging at my heart strings for over a year now. ❀πŸ₯°
