The Fall

~~~
It is no surprise that we say
Being in love is a fall
Where once over the edge
We have no control at all
~~~

Emotions like the air roars

Blocking out all other sound

And our flight of needed fancy

No thought of impending ground

~~~
Floating in the ether rare
Where our dreams reside
We find what we hoped for
Perfection undenied
~~~

Time turns insignificant

As long as weโ€™re together

When it feels this blissful

We want to fall forever

~~~
Feeling as if given wing
Our hopes rise to great height
With wind and love in our eyes
We earn a shortened sight
~~~

I cannot warn you from the fall

As wingless born, we all must fly

And whether we can fly at all

Our hearts bid that we must try

~~~
Oh, these soaring moments
Are Eden to us, my friend
But beware the sudden stop
Comes when the falling ends
~~~

    Great work my friend! Lovely poem with a very poignant message for being wingless beings our flight is usually short and the fall usually hard…but, thatโ€™s what makes life interesting. All the best,
    F.

    Ah, pulling on those heartstrings again. Do you agree with the saying “Tis better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all”? I believe the fall is worth the risk. ๐Ÿ˜˜ I hope you’re having a great day!

  7. Jim Borden says:

    I don’t want to be around for the fall… ๐Ÿ™‚

    Love this line: Time turns insignificant as long as weโ€™re together. Keep up the good work! Great poem! ๐Ÿ’•
