Recognizing Race

I am not color blind

I recognize your race

As well as you see mine

In white upon my face

~~~
Flagrant ethnicity
Impossible to hide
A brand for all to see
That should be worn with pride
~~~

And though I see your hue

My heart remains still free

No judgement made of you

I have brought here with me

~~~
Good not found in skin tone
Nor evil in the eyes
Good runs deep in the bone
Where prejudice must die
~~~

I know that my pale clan

Has slept for way too long

Please see me as a man

Not as the unjust throng

~~~
And I will do the same
Seeing you for just you
Hold you without blame
For what others may do
~~~

With mutual respect

As one man to another

I hope my life reflects

Love for every brother

~~~
    Beautiful! Precious words you’ve written my dear friend! Thoughts like yours should be prevalent in all minds. There is but one race, the Human Race and people are either good or bad, and the good ones are not equal to the bad one, that’s the only measure. Great post!
    Eloquently put, Brad. Mutual respect and seeing other as equals have to be the attitude.
