A Centrifugal Life
~~~
I have not past the horizon just yet
To peer long over the edge of exist
The scant barrier between now and when
The undone left as only the wished
~~~
There are unknown miles to journey
But I can see that place from where I stand
A distant shore that siren calls to me
And the finality found upon its sands
~~~
Oh, that I could, be centered again
Childlike eyes seeing only light
Where youthful distance sees no end
And looking back bears little sight
~~~
But we are given centrifugal lives
Constantly spinning around the sun
Forces pushing us to final finite end
Where we learn what our lives have spun
~~~
If I get there before you, please know
That I stepped over that edge unafraid
I was grateful for living a beautiful life
In the countless revolutions I made
~~~
Don’t you dare get there before me! But seriously, what a great take on the revolutions around the sun that only become ‘real’ to us when we are old enough to give up the myth that we’re going to live for ever. Like you, I’m learning to live the rest of my years without regret.
Thanks sis! We are constantly in motion, moving to an unseen end. But there is much to experience and share before we get there. Love you!
Life changes as we change…thoughts venture towards areas and things that were never thought of before and we find comfort in knowing of our existence, the things we’ve done, or not done, and the blessings that lay before us. Every day is a lifetime…wonderful poem my friend,
Take good care,
F.
Thank you, Francisco! I know you appreciate every moment you are given and use them to better the world we share!
As you do my friend! All the best,
F.
Me too, though I do suffer from vertigo from time to time )

Thank you, kind sir! I appreciate all your support!
I love the idea of a cosmic centrifugal force flinging us into void when our desperate fingers, at last, can hold on no longer. Well done, Brad.
Thank you, Sudra! You have clearly seen what I was trying to express and I appreciate your support and kind words!
Such a beautiful reminder that not a endings are tragic. I don’t like to imagine a world without you in it, but it’s a comforting thought, to know you faced the end without fear. Beautifully written, as always. ❤
