Midnight Moment

The center of dark

Light lies far afield

Either direction

Fatal fates are sealed

Midnight leaves its mark

Beautiful twilight

As with coming dawn

Not in reflection

The curtains are drawn

For this is the night

The middle of black

An unlit moment

Ebony perfection

The evil latent

Stars take the sky back

Twelve chimes ghostly bell

Time points to the sky

Without detection

Quickly passes by

No time left to dwell

This is filled with mystical suspense. I love all the lines. You take the reader on a breath holding journey. A visual unfolded as a read. A powerful painting of a verse..

Wonderful poem, bread. I’ve never been much of a fan of the night, give me bright sunny days!

Well done, Brad! Sunrise and twilight are the best times of the day. Not much good happens in the middle of the night.

  7. This poetry is more like a description of that wee hour that’s mystical and magical. Like a ritual, you describe a moment with every element in it having a distinct role to play. This one really took me to a fascinating journey
