Perfect Sight

~~~
Even those with perfect sight
See the world through a lens
The light that meets our eyes
Bent by fortune and friends
~~~

A filtered understanding

As our past, all we know

Prescription for a life

Cast in rose colored glow

~~~
Strain your eyes, look beyond
The scratched and dirty glass
See the ones unseen before
The ones so easy to walk past
~~~

Stare long into the eyes of man

See the world in unshaded view

Know that but by other luck

The person you pass could be you

    I agree with Jo, Amen. This is such a beautifully written message we should all thank of every day. People can be cruel especially in cities. My husband use to take his bike to work when we lived in Seattle. This was a smaller city he road in but very busy. Once he fell an an intersection and was bleeding, his jacket in threads and people literally walked around him like he wasn’t there. I was at the beach once and saw a man fall to the ground on cement and he had a seizure. People walked around him too. We put his head under my husband’s shirt and called an ambulance. Of course I could give hundreds of examples of seeing the lack of love and empathy for our fellow brothers and sisters.

    Also don’t forget to speak to the older person who can barely open a door, help them and take a second to say hello. Sorry for getting on a tangent but I have a hard time understanding the cruelty of humanity.

    Thank you Brad I hope people will really take your beautiful but serious words to heart.
    Sending love, hugs and thanks for all those who take off their rose colored glasses. 💕❤️🤗😘Jonikins

    Well said, Brad. We’re not that different from each other, And the sooner we realize that the better.

    And speaking of perfect sight, 2020 has been far from a perfect year…

    The lines “See the ones unsee before” and “The ones so easy to walk past” are so powerful. How dare we look the other way!

    How sad that so many refuse to see the human spirit within those who are “easy to walk past.” Brilliantly beautiful, my dear!

  6. The real vision is our mindsight, eyes no matter how perfect has only been a biological lens. Unfortunately in this world the one who can’t see feel more than the one who can. We all, in many ways, are impaired by our mindsight. Such powerful thought can only come from your work Brad.

    So true my friend, so true! You’ve written a lovely poem that serves to guide and teach in a pure and simple manner. Great work!
