One of a Kind

I am but a link in a chain

No stronger than the next

I am but a star in night sky

No brighter than the rest

I am but a grain of sand

Alone, I am not the shore

I am but a cloud in the sky

Just one of so many more

I am but a leaf on the flower

That helps the beauty show

I am but a tree in the forest

Where all the others grow

I am but a fish in the sea

Strongest within the school

I am but a drop in the bucket

Not why the bucket is full

I am but a second in infinity

Many before and many behind

Yet, how I live my life should be

As if I am one of a kind

I love your closing thoughts, “How I live my life should be as if I’m one of a kind.” We need to celebrate our uniqueness. It’s what makes life so interesting.

Brad this is another great poem that should be in a book for all of time. So beautifully crafted and every line so true my friend. Love and hugs from Jonikins

  8. This is an absolutely beautiful poem. I love the compassion and sense of comradely combined with reaching your fullest potential. Be kind and the world will be kind to you- a sentiment many of us forget or choose to selfishly ignore today.
