The Truth

~~~
Nobody thought it ever could
But we have been wrong before
Like the forest full of trees
It has become so very obscure
~~~

When it is bent by all we hear

The repeated lies and fallacies

Where is the truth we hold dear

When ours seem to never agree

~~~
We find our tribe and listen well
To the words that feed our own
And there under rhetoric spell
Truth becomes the lesser known
~~~

We build our own realities

Hand pick what we believe

Surround ourselves in sycophants

Unwilling the truth to see

~~~
So, there it died a mournful death
Where nothing requires proof
And we have laid to final rest
That thing we called the truth
~~~

    These words are a wake up call for sure. Lovely work Brad. Sorry to be behind in reading I have been writing and submitting and gotten behind reading great work like this. Hope all is well. Sending you tons of love and hugs. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿค—โค๏ธJoni

      No worries dear Jonikins! Submitting is its own hard work. I appreciate your support always!

        You write such beautiful poetry and so often you make it look easy but it isnโ€™t for me. I love writing but it takes many hours for me to write something I am happy with and then I revisit it several times before I publish. You probably do the same but are more disciplined than I am. Sending lots of love and appreciation for all the beautiful reads yesterday. All so timely and so true. Have a blessed and peaceful day. Keep the news off over the weekend if at all possible. Also I do hope you have all your work together in case you decide to publish a book of your many pieces. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’•โค๏ธ

        Thanks Jonikins! I do have all my works together for my sister tp publish upon my demise. We have a running bet on who goes first. Maybe it will happen when I am still around. Who knows? Thanks for all the love and support. Returning it all to you with gratitude! ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ™

      • jonicaggiano says:

        Your sister is so sweet like my best friend Janette. Loyal and so loving her heart. Your work should be published. I am glad you left it to someone I did that too. My daughter is connected and anything not published will belong to her it is in our will. Sending more love back my friend. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’•โค๏ธ love ya Jonikins

    well said, Brad. It seems like it is getting harder and harder to know what is the truth…

  6. petespringerauthor says:

    I couldn’t agree more. People hear what they want to hear and call it the truth.

  7. kristianw84 says:

    You said it so beautifully!
