Northern Lights
~~~
Charged particles paint the sky
Shimmering in blues and greens
Likes ancient spirits sent to dance
And energize the starlit scene
~~~
A spinning iron heart pushes back
Against what the sun can hurl
Photons forged in fusion
Flung at our fragile world
~~~
With child-like eyes we peer
As ghostly colors fly by
And watch as the Great Artist
Composes the wonder in our eyes
~~~
Rare is the beauty to be seen
Within those cold artic nights
Where science melds with magic
In the aurora of Northern Lights
~~~
Mother Nature as artist
She is the best!
How beautiful Brad. I would love a chance to see them. It must be something else.
Love these lines:
โAs ghostly colors fly by
And watch as the Great Artist
Composes the wonder in our eyesโ
Hope all is well my friend. Sending love and hugs.
“Where science melds with magic” splendid Brad.
Thank you beautiful G!
I was always fascinated with Aurora borealis, the northern lights. That’s one sight on my bucket list to see it literally in the north pole. And your poetry about them is as fascinating as them. It’s a blend of science, nature and magic like you speak about them in the last stanzas. The poetry is an ode to them with a recipe of your wonderful words, scientific fact about them, nature and it’s magic. Wonderfully written Brad ๐๐
Thank you V! There is certainly great beauty within the natural world. I hope some day you sit and write underneath them, my friend!
Welcome Brad๐๐
Adding on, as this is my favourite topic have you heard or seen STEVE light phenomenon, they are wonderful and fascinating too, something to research and know about
Who wouldn’t be excited by a sub-auroral ion drift? Not that is something on my list still. Thanks V!
โScience melds with magic…โ beautiful my friend!
Thank you F!
My pleasure Brad!
what a beautiful tribute to one of mother nature’s special sights; I’d love to see those some day…
Maybe an Alaskan cruise when you retire….
I have always thought magic and s ience go hand in hand. I love how you described such a magical moment. This is another bucketlist item of mine!
I hope your bucket never empties Kristian! You have a life of magical moments ahead of you. Much love to you both!
