Found Fears

~~~
Fear is the greatest motivator
It is an instinctually given part
The prowess of any dictator
It is the horse that pulls the cart
~~~

It taps into the hidden things

The scary we leave unsaid

Hope suffers from clipped wings

And is replaced by worried dread

~~~
As powerful as it may be
Useful in keeping us alive
Fear the greatest travesty
More than living, we should thrive
~~~

Politics make it a welcomed tool

To win our hearts by design

Fear is how the weakest rule

Captive to our own minds

~~~
Stay fast upon your own two feet
Ne’er let your fear take hold
Life is not found in the retreat
It is found in the being bold
~~~

    it’s all about fear, you are so right

    Wonderful post, Brad. You have conquered it ., you have written about it so you are above the petty feeling of being overcome by any kind of fear.

  3. Your lack of fear has always been something I’ve found to be ultra-amazing. Here, I can hear you talk about it, but I have seen you walk the walk as well. I relax when I’m with you because I know you “have my back” – and for that time we’re together, I fear nothing!

    • Brad Osborne says:

      I “have your back” whether we are together or not sis, but distance does not allow me to physically protect as I would like to. But I can love you a ton from here!

    That second stanza especially….love it.

    Bravo! So well said! True words and a powerful poem, great work my friend!

  6. Jim Borden says:

    well said, Brad. as a wise man once said, the only thing we have to ear, is fear itself…

  7. petespringerauthor says:

    To follow Jim’s lead, I’ll go with one of my favorite quotes about fear by Walk Kelly. “We have met the enemy, and he is us.” I think of this every time we prey on someone because their color, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc., is not the “right” one.
