Renew

~~~
I must purge
Throw off the negative
In a shuffling of the mind
Exhaling the unwanted
The unneeded
The misled
~~~

Exhausting the world

And its darkish stains

Sullied upon the good

Pushing out the ugly

The uncaring

The bled

~~~
Cast off the shadows
Black corners deep
The scent of decay
Parsed from the soul
The unholy
The bred
~~~

I must scrape

Old layers to the new

Free what lingers

The rot of old thoughts

The ancient

The dead

~~~
  1. I must say this all of your poems, including this, has always showcased powerful message, the idea to renew one’s mind, soul and idea of self. But what blows my mind is the format, the way words are arranged, that’s the thing I always take away from your work. 🙂🙏
  2. Great poem with a great message and something that we all must do continually. We are in a constant state of growth and development and we must not allow ourselves to become stagnant. Lovely work my friend. All the best,
    F.
  3. I hope you’ve been doing well Brad! =)
    I feel like I really needed to read a poem with a message about renewing my thoughts and efforts and who better it be from than you. You’ve catured the dynamic nature of life and its importance so wonderfully. Lovely and yet again an incredibly powerful piece.
    Much love,
    Megha
    We know what we must do. It is the doing that is difficult. 😦
