Stand

~~~
Do not let my calm demeanor
Make you for a minute think
That I am not a man of purpose
A raging storm, a hurricane
A vast torrent within the deep
Yet still waters on the surface
~~~

For I am a measured man

Quiet and still in my resolve

Not given to rail and shout

I do not condone violence

But if it is warranted

I can surely dish it out

~~~
For behind these soft eyes
Curtained by inviting smile
The heart is not pure gold
It is a savage, beating beast
Chained and honor bound
A warrior now grown old
~~~

But there is still fight in me

Good will never bow down

We must choose when to fight

And I was taught by real men

That the time to make a stand

Is when you stand for right

  1. Such an honest look into the mirror at yourself! This is, indeed, who I know you are on the inside, and it makes me so damned proud that I get to call you brother and friend! Love you unendingly!

    three cheers for the strong silent type; and I am glad you are on our side if it comes down to a fight…

    Great piece, Brad. True leaders inspire by words and action. Choose those battles carefully.

    Truth is no one hates war more than those who’ve been to war. Violence is a response that stems from the highest levels of aggression and aggression is a powerful tool that can be well controlled and summoned only when truly required. Beautiful writing. You’re proving deep into human truth my friend, as an artist should. All the best to you,
    FBC.

    I always knew there was a mysterious side of you, reserved for those close enough to see it. I’ve always loved a good mystery! 😉❤
