Balance

~~~
Life exists in the balance
The teetering of cosmic scale
One more breath to breathe in
After every breath exhaled
~~~

Every obvious good

Holds a little evil unseen

And life is much more grey

Found in the in-betweens

~~~
Let nature be your guide
To the impermanence
Mountains erode away
Deserts just seas, past tense
~~~

We must find our own paths

In a world that remains unstill

Not always the ease of down

Some parts will be uphill

~~~
This balance in our lives
Is what we should strive for
Leaning too far in one direction
Will only your fall assure
~~~

  3. Very beautifully written, Brad. Balance is the most critical aspect of life, especially when change is a hard universal factor so that change can lead to an equilibrium shift. Still, in every respect, balance is needed to scale harmonised existence.

    So much truth in your words my friend. I love this stanza as I relate to the not always pleasant truth often found within.

    When someone asks how my life is different in retirement, it always includes some referral to balance. My plan is to never get out of balance again. Probably won’t happen—but worth striving for.
