Serpent’s Kiss

~~~
Lips as red as Eden’s apple
And twice as attractive
Filled with the knowing
Full and extractive
~~~

Where whispered the words

Sweet as a winter wine

That feed my smitten soul

And beg me there to dine

~~~
Just one short taste
Seems it could do no harm
I lean to meet your smile
Succumbing to your charms
~~~

And like a flash of lightning

In that momentary bliss

I willing give up heaven

For the fire that is your kiss

~~~
If Hades be the demanded cost
To burn away the original sin
Then kiss me one more time, my love
And let the burning begin
~~~

  2. Well written! What an honest portrayal of the fact that we have such an urgent need to “taste love” that no risk seems insurmountable!

    I adore this lovely romantically flavored piece Brad. You are doing a lot of these lately and you are so good writing about love. Keep in coming. Love ❤️ Jonikins
