White

~~~
I have freedoms others will never know
Simply because my skin is white
And although I did not choose it so
I agree that it is just not right
~~~

For in youth, all are color blind

Until we are taught to hate

Fears pressed daily in our minds

Become reasons to not relate

~~~
I will stand with you, all brothers true
Until racism finally dies
And hope the world our children view
See you treated as right as I
    Wonderful words
  2. I share your hope. Having said that, I’m cynical enough to believe it won’t ever truly happen, and I believe that those who have hate in their hearts will always find people who are somehow ‘different’ to taunt.
    I’m with you on this, Brad. I hope we see the end of racism, but I am sure that if we do, we will find some other way to judge and look down on others.
    Oh I love this Brad. Bravo. Racism is definitely taught. When I lived on base as a little girl my best girlfriend was black. I loved her and she loved me. It wasn’t until we moved off base that I saw things I didn’t understand. It hurt my heart deeply. Bless you for speaking out. Yea!!! Love you Jonikins
    I watched this phenomenon many times over the years. Second graders just want to be friends with everybody. As I often say, “Adults could learn a few things from kids.”
    I agree with you! If only more of us could see the world through a child’s eyes. I’m not sure when people stopped seeing the human spirit inside others. Inside, we are all the same. I love your heart! ❤
