Sunrise Service
~~~
They gathered that morning
Bundled against the chill
Around the traffic circle
At the top of the hill
~~~
They came to pay respect
To the ones they love
Who gave their very lives
For the flag flying above
~~~
And in dawn’s growing light
Was heard the bugle’s blare
As Taps was played and echoed
Through the morning air
~~~
The stone bears the names
Of family and friends
So, they will be remembered
Yet, the missing never ends
~~~
Let us long for peace
In the words that we pray
To honor these brave souls
On this Memorial Day
~~~
a thought goes to everyone🌻
Thank you A.!
My sympathies to every parent, spouse, sibling, child and all loved ones for never having the chance to hug your soldier one more time and say a proper goodbye. We realize that their sacrifice for this country was also your sacrifice, and we thank you for your soldier’s ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms and rights.
Beautifully said, sis! Love you bunches!
❤️a thought for all of them
Thank you, Beth!
I can’t say it better than your sister who must be an amazing woman Brad. You have been on my mind this weekend as has my own father. I don’t know how to properly thank someone for their service as I can’t imagine the cost. I know that I am grateful for my freedom and without men like you and my father I would not likely have it. So please know that I am thinking of you today along with many Veterans I have met over the years and those who are no longer with us. Love you and thank you ❤️Jonikins
That is as gracious a thank you as anyone can ask. Loving you back, Jonikins!
So glad I know you Brad. Thank you for your love. ❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹Jonikins
another wonderful tribute to those who gave their lives for our country…
Thank you, Jim! It is a fond recollection of celebrating Memorial day as a kid.
I can’t recall celebrating Memorial Day as a kid, but where we live now there is a parade every year, which we have attended many times, and been part of as well…
A most beautiful and profound homage Brad.
Thank you brother!
You’re welcome my brother!
More peace and fewer bullets. Thanks for all of your thoughts, Brad.
Thanks Pete!
