Scarecrows

~~~
Fear not the slings and arrows
Of small words from smaller souls
Language cannot and does not define you
You are the only one
Who can write your book
~~~

You are not the bone, but the marrow

And ever changing is your role

Your eyes have the clearest view

Of the battles won

You only need to look

~~~
The world is full of scarecrows
But they are just straw on a pole
To yourself remain what is true
There is no need to run
Or make their doubt your crook
~~~

Some minds are just too narrow

To behold your radiant whole

And the only thing that you can do

Let them have their hateful fun

As your spirit remains un-shook

~~~
  1. Brilliant Brad, and so very true these perfect words you’ve precisely placed in this masterful work of art. I am always for self mastery, self control and confidence, nobody can shake you if they want to only if they can…
    I don’t really have a problem with this, since even the doubters and the naysayers ignore anything I have to say… 🙂
  4. That’s so beautiful and so inspirational Brad.
    This is indeed a beautiful way of saying don’t let others snuff out your light. This is a great poem to share my friend as I believe that many a great poet has ceased to write because of what others have said.
    “You are not the bone, but the marrow
    And ever changing is your role”
    I believe these two line say so much and the metaphor is a blessed one. Thank you for sharing this today.
    Have a great Sabbath. Love and hugs always, Jonikins ❤️🤗❤️😘
  6. The first five lines really grab my attention.
