When Cometh Time
~~~
When cometh time, that I am dead
Lookest not for my earthly grave
To tread the mound o’er fallen head
Shed the tears thou wouldst not save
For tis not there, my spirit lie
I am the wind that passes by
~~~
Nary a stone will marketh lot
Whenst my time has ticked its last
Nor daisies resting, where I am not
With thou sorrow and sadness cast
Soul unbound in deathly call
I am the rains that lightly fall
~~~
Seek me not in hallowed spaces
Hold still the words that cometh late
Find me in the common places
Should final rest behold fatal fate
Ne’er the grave will e’er be mine
I am the sun that doeth bright shine
~~~
If thoust look, I can be found
And all the love I have for thee
Will not live, if laid to ground
In death it finds its liberty
You can always find me there
I am in every breath of air
~~~
What a lovely sentiment, and written in the language I know you loved so well! Well done!
Thanks for the inspiration! Love you!
and your words will also live on forever; beautiful poem, Brad. And I am impressed with your command of Old English!
I love this ode to the path of life and death
Thank you Beth!
Thanks Jonikins and congratulations on your interview at Spillwords Press. You are so deserving!
Thank you Brad I have always appreciated your love and support it means a lot to me. You have been a mentor of mine for a long time now and I am grateful. I have learned a lot from you. Sending lots of love always my dear friend. ❤️❤️😘💝Jonikins
If I have helped in some small way, I am so very happy. But your talent is your own and you have found your stride in writing. The accolades and attention your works are receiving is the evidence of your hard work and talents. I am so very happy for you and will continue to always be a fan, champion, and friend!
Oh Brad believe me you have helped in many ways. Your kind words mean so much. It is hard to express how I feel about many of my dear friends here in this world of words. Just know that having you on my side as a “fan, champion, and friend” means more than you could probably imagine. Thank you dearly Brad, Love Jonikins ❤️
Long may you live and write and spare us that scavenger hunt.
Thanks Geoff! I hope the same for you!
This is such a beautiful reminder of how even in death, love lives on! ❤❤
We never really go away. Thanks my friend!
