I Wonder
~~~
I wonder if you have changed
If what we went through
Has had the same impact on you
~~~
For I know I am not the same
What was once found then lost
Has paid the highest of costs
~~~
But I do not bear any regrets
For the growth you have spurred
In your solo world so absurd
~~~
Has opened my eyes for sure
Though our love could not be renewed
My perception is now much less skewed
~~~
I wonder if you have changed
But from my more distant view
You appear to be the same old you
~~~
I think all people change over time. The difference is that some people change because they HAVE to, and some people change because they WANT to. I know I’ve changed a lot over the course of my adulthood, and I see many, many changes in you over the past several years!
I guess some change is inevitable then. Love you sis!
I think we do make personal adjustments/changes if we are willing to be open along the way, and learn, but some are not, and stay who they were and continue to be.
I agree with your sister that we all change over time, some more than others. But we may not notice when it happens to ourselves.
You are both likely correct….Thanks Jim!

Omg! This spoke to me. And it feels like my current life. Thank you for putting the words down that I could not find. I appreciate you so much!
Thank you Marla! I am glad it spoke to you!
beautiful lines
Thank you!
I do not know if you change or not but I sure love your words!
Thanks Geoff!
I think many of us change and grow as we perceive different perspectives and learn more about the world and the people in it. I feel sorry for those who remain the same; it’s as if they’re walking around blindly, thinking there are no areas of improvement.
Some people think they have life all figured out and are already the best version of themselves. I have found that life is never quite that linear. Much love!
Change sometimes is just an illusion and the desire to change a mind-game, but you’ve written a lovely poem about such an oneiric event. Cheers Brad,
FBC.
Thank you dear friend!
My pleasure my friend
I understand these words well. They’re beautiful!
Thank you very much!
You’re welcome, Brad!
We can’t help but wonder about someone from days gone by.
Thank you Pete!
