Tuesday Tidbits #81
~~~
Welcome to the limited series, Tuesday Tidbits. A collection of quotes to provide inspiration, determination, and elevation. I hope you find something that brightens your day!
The only thing I have ever hoped for, from every letter I have ever written, is to be the reason some young girl or boy picks up a pen and paper and says to themselves, “I can be a writer”.
You can take any great poem and re-arrange and punctuate it to a sterilized and grammatically correct paragraph, yet when read, it will still be poetry to the ear. That is why I know that poetry, truly, has no form.
It is hubris to hope that your words will speak to the world if you have not seen the rest of it. To know the joys and the pains of other cultures and peoples, is tantamount in understanding our global connections.
Social media has changed our society and, for many, better defined the word “reality”. We now understand that reality has no foundation in truth or science, only in what we choose to believe. And that, for any individual, has always been their reality.
You can save your money for a rainy day, but it still won’t buy you sunshine.
Joy is not getting everything we want out of life. It is appreciating what we are given.
When we find ourselves in a tug-of-war, we think pulling harder is our road to victory. Sometimes, the answer is just letting go of the rope.
Now get out there and write something!
love these – especially the wish to inspire others to have the confidence to jump in and write
Thanks Beth!
“When we find ourselves in a tug-of-war, we think pulling harder is our road to victory. Sometimes, the answer is just letting go of the rope.” I know this to be true from experience. One merely has to decide if the battle is worth ‘winning’ and then act accordingly.
Thank you sis!
I agree; inspiring someone else is a wonderful reward. And I love the quote about understanding other cultures – that’s part of why my wife and I hope to do lots of traveling. But if not, we will appreciate what we have 🙂
Thank you, Jim!
You’re right about reality in this day and age…
And so true, all the money in the world cannot buy a sunny day!
Smashing good my friend!
Must be something about Tuesdays for I have quotes on Tuesdays as well! 🙂
Who doesn’t love a good quote? I am not sure why I picked Tuesday for this series, but there maybe something to it. I look forward to reading yours! Thank you, Joy!
Another series of tidbits where I am finding it hard to choose a favorite. You are so hood at these!
