Tarry Not

Linger not by chance

Or mere circumstance

Tarry less but for right cause

Bid you make haste

Your time not waste

No hiding within some pause

Please, take your leave

Heart will not grieve

If this can be nothing more

There is little time

In this life of mine

To pretend to be demure

If dally you do

I enamored by you

May too easily become

And regret you may

That you chose to stay

When you could have run

A moment indeed

Is all I need

To do your heart great harm

A web I will spin

To capture you in

And bite you with my charm

Now that you know

Should you not go

A signal it will be

Fearless you are

Or crazy by far

Guess I will have to see

I can’t imagine you harming anyone unless they threatened you or those you love. Lovely piece. Made my smile Brad. Love ❤️ Jonikins 🤗

If you were to ask my ex-lovers, they may not readily agree. But I have tried to be better about it.

I have never really been a one night stand kind of girl I honestly never saw the point. When I lived in Lexington there were three women to every one man, those were the actual statistics. I dated a guy for about three months and I was starting to develop real feelings for him and he gave me an ultimatum and that was that. Another guy I really cared about took me to dinner one night and got out wine put on Peter Gabriel and said, “Are you ready now?” I got the giggles as I was a bit elevated in mood, and being a musician I suppose he was use to girls drooling on him. I couldn’t stop laughing. Needless to say I didn’t date much after that. I just didn’t see the point. So I can’t imagine making love with a man and then him taking right off. It would be safer and likely the woman would have a better chance at climaxing by masturbation too. Just saying. This isn’t a dig at you Brad at all, I have just never understood the risk women take for what could mean nothing. Sorry for the long narrative but my honesty just comes on out when it feels like making a worthwhile point.
Hope you still want my hug after this lengthy response. Love ❤️ Joni

This is an open forum Jonikins and your thoughts and feelings are always welcome and always valid. Brevity is not a requirement. We certainly have had different experiences in our youth. Now I am wondering if I should move to Lexington?

I like the unusual three-line stanzas and rhythm of this piece. Let’s see how things turn out.

clever poem, Brad. and perhaps a little bit of fearlessness and craziness is what you are looking for…

Oh you opened up a can of worms when you said I didn’t have to be brief. Haha I could tell you some stories you probably would find hard to believe as you are a gentleman. Yes, you would have had your pic of girls in Lexington Brad. The University of Kentucky was known for its beautiful young women. When I did date which was rare, they were poets or musicians. Your comment made me laugh, I don’t know any man who wouldn’t like those statistics. Have a great evening. Love Jonikins
