de Molay

~~~
In the tincture of sullen mist
Rises the faint cry, man bound
And lies the nations for this
For unworn the thorny crown
And jester snickers duplicitous
~~~

Stone walls creep and keep

Mortared in kinsman marrow

Upon the moor, across the deep

To stave the poisoned arrows

And quills that vane their flight

~~~
Battered armor creaks its years
As a knee falls, ne’er submission
But to suffer his Lord to hear
His sins given holy regression
A scabbard falls, steel meets light
~~~

De Molay, just a humble man

Oath sworn in dawning light

Righteousness begs now he stand

God’s soldier in coming fight

Red-crossed, rises Templar Knight

~~~
