Find Your Moments
Jupiter hangs on gossamer string
While laughter fills the cooling air
Each firefly a chance to hold close
That amazing thing called life
The scent of wild-flowers steal
Any thoughts of worry or woe
Sun hides below the horizon
Its work being done for the day
Thoughts may turn, as thoughts do
To what tomorrow may hold
Yet this very moment begs
That you live it to the fullest
Nothing waits in the wings
More important than right now
This brief interlude in time
Must be born in depth and soul
Exhale the day and calm your mind
Let nothing come to bear
Just each breath drawn deeply in
Your connection to the now
Little moments are all we have
Strung together like pearls
Each a beautiful, wonderous thing
If you can find the stillness within
beautiful – this is it, this moment, each and every one. all we have.
Thanks Beth!
Ah, I’ve started a blog post about living in the past, present or future, and your words exemplify what living in the present is, why it matters, and what it brings.
Thanks sis!
Ah, finding the “stillness within”, for many not easy…beautiful poem my friend.
Thank you, my friend!
Always a pleasure my friend!
A good reminder to live in the present instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.
At our age, the past is too long and the future too short. But the “right nows” are perfect!
beautiful poem, Brad, about taking time to enjoy each moment…
Thanks, Jim!
These piece is full of wisdom Brad for all. Rushing through life for example instead of living in the here and now. Sometimes that is a hard one. However striving to live that way is great advice. When I started reading this piece, it seemed somehow familiar. Beautiful Brad, Love Jonikins
You may have read it before as I think I posted it here over a year ago. You have a keen memory! Thanks Jonkins!
Beautiful!! A new favorite! ❤
