Sea of Love

~~~
As the adventurers in stories of old
Setting out upon the vast blue seas
To seek the new, so brave and bold
We set loving sail and so went we
~~~

Uncharted course to far off lands

With the promise of fair blue skies

Sailored vows said while holding hands

And want for what beyond horizon lies

~~~
But every voyage has its storms
When the wind and the gales hard blow
There tossed by the clouds that form
Our future we cannot ready know
~~~

And after many leagues had passed

With the wave and wind beating hull

We found that our ship could not last

And we put in for a port of call

~~~
No longer could she stay afloat
Holes had riddled her to death
Looking upon our little love boat
It was clear she had nothing left
~~~

So, part we did upon new shores

With hopes you’d find your island true

Now marooned, I am still thankful for

This moment to explore with you

~~~
    This is so beautifully written Brad. The boat a metaphor for your love. This rhythm of this piece is so lovely Brad. I can just picture this dinged up boat and two lovers leaving the object that brought them so much pleasure. Beautiful Brad. Sending you my love. It is finally cooling off here and the hint of fall has come. I am glad to see it. Big hugs and my love coming your way. ❤️🤗❤️💕❤️Jonikins
    I know this is more about love, but my mind went to the bravery of early sailors and how they traveled across continents with little in the way of modern tools. Talk about a leap of faith.
      What a great observation Pete! Can you imagine getting aboard a ship with only a hope of knowing where you are going, how long it will take to get there or what may great you on the other side? True adventurers!
    I love the optimism of looking on the bright side of landing on an unknown island
