What is a Poem

What is a poem, if not a prayer

A pleading coo on whispered air

A beg for grace in lyric tone

Words, the sacred given throne

Metered hymn in reverence

Language seen as recompense

Worship we the things held dear

In rhyme and rhythm to the ear

A tithe of time and of tense

Scriptured lines in silence

Gospels of man written there

What is a poem, if not a prayer

This is one of the most beautiful poems I’ve ever read. Your writing is that of famous poets. If not a prayer or that which we worship. You so simply, profoundly, and lyrically, penned everything I feel about poetry and words. Thank you, Brad.

What a lovely poetic prayer. This is so gorgeous Brad. You began this poem so beautifully and ended it reverently. Really a blessing to get going on a Saturday morning and to be inspired by your work. Sending you hugs and my love always Brad. 🤗❤️💕Jonikins
