Stalled

~~~
I am stalled
Like a hapless paper plane
Tossed into the wind
Hanging in the air
But going nowhere
~~~

A brown leaf

Hanging on

Green forever gone

Cannot stay

Don’t want to fall

~~~
The fluffy wisp
In an azure sky
With nary a breeze
To push me along
Like I am painted on
~~~

Shoes of concrete

Plastered in place

No direction known

No motion made

But cannot retreat

~~~
Anchored in sand
Held at bay
To ride the tide
But always stay
Sails left unfurled
~~~

    time to unfurl and sail –

  2. I offer the idea that time for standing still is necessary in order to replenish the energy to move forward and the strength to keep from moving backwards. I have seen that one lonely leaf hanging by some magical power through the dead of winter. It always reminds me that it’s best to go at our own pace and not the expected pace of others.

  4. You capture the essence of being stalled very well for someone who never appears stalled.

    It’s human nature for all of us to get in this place sometimes, but hopefully, it passes quickly.
