Be My Sky

If I told you my dreams,

would you laugh at what they are?

For, to many it would seem,

I follow a wayward star.

Or can you see as I do,

the future not cast in stone?

Like the sun in sky true blue,

am I left to rise alone?

These unshared things,

are like a secluded beach.

And my shiny brass ring,

seems so hard to reach.

I’d love to have a hand to hold,

as I find my way down life’s road.

But if my hopes seem to bold,

then nothing tried is nothing owed.

You don’t have to think I’ll make it,

just believe that I should try.

If dreams are to be forfeit,

then I am the wrong guy.

So, with you or without you,

I must continue as I roam.

If to myself I must be true,

my dreams must find their home.

But if you see my silly dreams,

as something that must be done,

travel this wayward road with me,

be the sky to my rising sun!
