Perfect Sight
~~~
Even those with perfect sight
See the world through a lens
The light that meets our eyes
Bent by fortune and friends
~~~
A filtered understanding
As our past, all we know
Prescription for a life
Cast in rose colored glow
~~~
Strain your eyes, look beyond
The scratched and dirty glass
See the ones unseen before
The ones so easy to walk past
~~~
Stare long into the eyes of man
See the world in unshaded view
Know that but by other luck
The person you pass could be you
~~~
Youβre welcome, Brad. And thank you, too. Karla
wonderful poem. makes me think about how unfair life can be sometimes, with much of our fate determined at the moment of birth…
It can be, but we at least have free will…
I think some people have more free will than others…
A world of perfect imperfections. Great poem, Brad.
Thanks Geoff!
Love these words of wisdom, Brad. It’s a fine line between success and failure. Karma may come back to bite us.
