Winter Woods
~~~
As I walked in the winter woods
Amongst a chorus of white pines
Singing their benediction to the moon
In a silence as deep as the sea
~~~
Long dead leaves made no protest
The elderly tipped in grey frost
Held no thought, this passage of time
Their progeny buried in their decay
~~~
The gentle sigh of a north wind
Pushed the world to sleep
And a hush fell like a lullaby
Mother Earth bid her rest
~~~
My soul seeped into the loam
Melting into everything
I was both lost and found
As I walked in the winter woods
~~~
You’re very welcome Brad!
This is so, so beautiful. Everyone should take a walk in the snowy woods while they still have miles to go before they sleep. 😉❤
Thanks, Kristian!
