Different, Not Better
~~~
You hang a sheepskin
And I sport tattoos
You dress to win
I wear jeans of blue
You wax your Benz
I, a stallion in steel
You have many friends
I, a more intimate feel
You sport your wealth
In a life undenied
I focus myself
More on the inside
Different as we may be
We share something true
I can only be this me
And you can only be you
[…] Different, Not Better […]
well said, we are who we are
Thank you, Beth!
Only the truly greedy, if asked to make a choice, would choose someone other than you in this. I’m glad you’re not the other person!
Thanks, sis! Love you!
This is another one the entire world needs to read! We might be different, but we are all human!
You are too kind! Oddly, when you boil it down, we all want the same things in life.
and hopefully we can learn to be happy with who we are…
That is the most important part. Thank you, Jim!
you are welcome, Brad!
We have to be true to ourselves, and our friends and loved ones accept us that way as we do them.
Very true, Pete! I am glad you pointed out that acceptance goes both ways. Thank you for all your support!
As it should be. A very well said statement.
Thank you, brother Francisco!
You’re welcome my friend!
You are a good egg, Brad.
Thanks Geoff!
Lovely comparative piece Brad. I often see in black and white which I am truly trying to change. I don’t have much in between and I am constantly working on that part of my personality. You sound a lot like myself. I use to force myself to try and spend time with people that were so different from me hoping to be a positive model. I don’t do that anymore as it was too hard on me. There are some things like horrific racism that I just can’t listen to or be around. I also spend a lot of time inside too. However, we have a smart car I am really afraid of Motor cycles. Sending you big hugs and lots of love. 🤗❤️🦋🥰
Thank you, Jonikins! We do not have to agree with or even understand the differences between us, we just have to accept them. Sending love in return!
This is true my friend but when I meet someone who must talk about something that goes against everything I believe in and humanity itself, if that person can’t agree that it is something I prefer not to talk about then it is not someone I can be around. For example if I continue being around someone who makes racist slurs and comments and don’t say something about it then I feel like a hypocrite or a racist myself. I still pray for these people but honestly there is just a limit to what my tender ears can tolerate anymore. I hope this makes sense to you. I don’t actually think that is what you mean anyway. You are too kind of a person yourself to be in the company of others I am referencing. I too am sending love, prayers and hugs as always. ❤️🤗Jonikins
