It is impossible to love someone who does not love themselves. They are a bucket with a hole. No matter how much love you pour in, they will never be full.
There is never any empathy to be found in the phrase, “I told you so”.
If you can’t question your own perspective or view of the world, then you don’t get to question others either.
Asking politicians to change the laws that govern themselves is like putting the wolves in charge of the henhouse hoping it will keep them from eating the chickens.
When I get something right, I feel smart. When I get something wrong, I feel even smarter, for I will have learned something.
Sometimes, it is not our words or actions that form another’s opinion of us. Sometimes, our true nature is discerned from what is left unsaid or undone.
If you ask me to lie for you, then I can only assume you are okay with me lying to you. I would prefer to do neither.

What do we need to learn most? To love ourselves and others, to have empathy, and to seek the truth? I have the feeling that we will all soon realize, on a worldwide scale, what we have been doing wrong, collectively as a society, and as individuals in that society. A striking lesson, brought about by a crisis, is impossible to ignore.

The one that resonated with me the most was your thoughts about questioning our own perspective. Admitting that we were wrong and learning from it is a sign of maturity. Telling others how they should think is pretty insulting when you think about it.

“What is left unsaid” and “I told you so” are related tidbits. I accidentally learned the value of eliminating the phrase “I told you so” in the workplace where it was career suicide.
