Chandelier

~~~
I had hoped to be a bonfire
A great light upon the night
A heat that burns away the wrong
And leaves behind all that’s right
~~~

A living flame that is noticed

For its strength and growing size

A welcome to the traveler

And a fair warning to the wise

~~~
With all that I could muster
My flint struck against the steel
And no matter my good wishes
Only the smallest of sparks revealed
~~~

Just enough for a single flame

That flickers without a sound

A smallish light that leaves behind

A great darkness all around

~~~
But if we work together
All the candles gathered near
We can light the entire world
For we become the chandelier
~~~

    wonderful imagery… it only takes a spark to get a fire going

  6. I believe that the majority of the humans on this earth all want what that bonfire can provide. I also believe that most of us, no matter how desperately we want it, are either unable or unwilling to start the smallest flame and hope others will join.

    The sum of the parts is always more than any individual, and there’s more buy-in from others when they’re involved.

  8. And yet you are a living flame that is noticed!

    Unfortunately i feel we all work together less than ever before.
    Our chandeliers have become much smaller and personal rather than for the world. SAD
