Next Moments

~~~
It is impossible to be happy all the time
Our lives are in the ebb and flow
A constant parade of things unknown
And feelings we neither want or need
That keeps the happy from being freed
We become bound in the woes of the world
~~~

Strength comes in the spirit knowing

Even as the world turns to ashen gray

And our joys seem so yesterday

Each dawn brings white canvas clean

Our lives await their painted scene

And the colors they hold, we choose

~~~
We have all sat in those shadows
Trapped in the negative space
Where happiness is hard to trace
But we must learn to let it go
Or it becomes all that we know
And happy turns to fond memory
~~~

Recognize the tide and its change

Felt in all that you must feel

Release the pain, begin to heal

See again with clearer eyes

Your happiness again will rise

Next moments may hold your dawn

~~~
  1. To be honest, I feel like I’ve just read through a ‘lecture’ that was written especially aimed at me. I suspect that I have given up the idea of pursuing happiness for the feeling of being content with what and how my life is and what and how I think it will continue to be.
    • Brad Osborne says:
      Just so you know, you can have happiness and be content at the same time. In fact, some would argue they are the same thing. Love you, sis! And, no, I did not write it “aimed at” you. Like most things, it is more aimed at me.
    yes, this is exactly how I feel, you couldn’t have said it better
  3. Always seek the positive, being content is being at peace with the world, with oneself and the life that exists all around. A beautiful piece my friend.
    Pursuant to the power of positive thinking
    To lift one up when one is sinking,
    I thought I’d wager a “Positive” song
    On which to ‘Bette’ with Bing along:
    Brad, the whole poem spoke to my heart. I’m no longer who I was and even what I am right now will not be WHO I am tomorrow or the next. I’ve had to let go and I’m still struggling with some of it-but it has to be done to move on to live in peace and just “BE”. Thank you my friend. 🀍
    • Brad Osborne says:
      Thank you, Karla! Letting go can be very hard. I hope each day brings you a little closer to the peace you desire and deserve. Can’t wait to meet the new you tomorrow! πŸŒΉπŸ’–πŸ˜˜
      • K.L. Hale says:
        Good morning, Brad. You’re welcome AND thank YOU for the wonderful comment. I know I’m better today than yesterday! It can change in an instant. But faith will keep me growing. πŸ’›πŸ’•πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜ peace and blessings to you dear friend!
      • Brad Osborne says:
        Thank you, Karla! I am at peace, and you are a blessing! πŸ’–πŸ˜˜πŸ€—πŸŒΉ
      • K.L. Hale says:
        You’re welcome! You’re a blessing to me too, Brad. πŸ’›πŸ˜˜πŸŽΆ
