About A Million Times
~~~
I fell in love once
About a million times
My world narrowed
To the singular
The one-in-a-million
Could ne’er be replaced
~~~
A unique loving beauty
Soulmate, blessed fate
The air that I breathe
But more breeze than wind
And, indeed, a common thread
Was woven within each
~~~
For as the winds blow
Each breeze becomes history
Carrying the scent of next
Old flames prefaced by “ex”
And I survive, barely alive
Only to fall in love again
~~~
I fell in love once
About a million times
~~~
oh, that last stanza
Thanks, Beth!
A million loves in what I feel has been a million lives. Brilliant, Brad. Your words always find their way. Love and hugs! ❤️🤗
Thank you, dear Karla! 💕🥰
It’s my pleasure, Brad! 🥰💛🙏🏻
What a beautifully written romantic piece. We can fall passionately over and over again and often with the same person. Hope the weather is beautiful today. Sending love and hugs Jonikins
Thank you, Jonikins! Love to you both.
Thank you Brad we send our love back to you. My husband is a fan of your beautiful poetry and was so happy when you won poetry of the year. Big hugs Jonikins 🤗
A million times is what it takes. A most suitable form for such a beautiful poem. Lovely work indeed my friend!
Thank you, brother!
You’re welcome my brother!
“The lights are on but you’re not home. Your mind is not your own.”
Love, love, love this!! I love the ending! ❤
Thank you, Kristian! Love to you, my friend!
Love to you, too.
I love that this piece starts and finishes the same way. Of course, love with someone is unique, but the promise of a new relationship renews our hope. Thank goodness many people find love again.
Thanks, Pete! The repeated lines beginning and end do give it a feeling of coming full circle.
