I Wonder
~~~
I wonder if you have changed
If what we went through
Has had the same impact on you
~~~
For I know I am not the same
What was once found then lost
Has paid the highest of costs
~~~
But I do not bear any regrets
For the growth you have spurred
In your solo world so absurd
~~~
Has opened my eyes for sure
Though our love could not be renewed
My perception is now much less skewed
~~~
I wonder if you have changed
But from my more distant view
You appear to be the same old you
~~~
some people never change, while others continue to grow, and nothing we can do about it
True that. Thanks, Beth!
People only change when they first recognize that they need to change. WE may recognize it, but that doesn’t promote the change.
Good point. It does start with self-recognition. Thanks for adding that, sis. Love you!
A beautifully expressed poem of questioning some of the fundamentals of being human, those being growth and change. Excellent work my friend!
Thank you, Francisco!
You’re welcome my friend!
Introspection only happens to those open minded enough to seek it. I believe you told me that. Well written, my friend. ❤
That sounds like some fortune cookie stuff I would say. Thank you, my dear friend! 💖
I have so poetically expressed an insight many of us can relate to.
Thank you, Geoff! Missed you buddy!
Beautifully written and so true. Love can be blind especially at first but then we may see things we don’t like so we try to change the person or hope they will change. Change takes enormous work and lots of love and commitment. Great writing as always Brad. Hugs, Jonikins
Thank you, Jonikins!
You are most welcome. 🦋
