Who Am I

I am but a man

Full of failures and faults

Clinging to what is good

In a pile full of wrong

Struggling to make sense

Of this world we share

Where hope seems stifled

And hearts cry out

I do what I can

To bring some needed light

But my words are simple

And so unrehearsed

What hubris to think

That a difference is made

In childish verses

That hold no recourse

But it is all I know to do

These whispers on the shouting wind

Are just a prayer

That we are better than this

The world I seek

This beauty unknown

Is love for one and all

Who could want any less

    “Who would want any less”?
One would like to think that’s true….
But the human condition is such a mess,
Just surviving is the best many of us can do.

  4. This is beautiful, Brad. It evokes emotion👏

  5. Yes, with the sentiment expressed, I quite agree! Beautiful words, powerful…

I cannot dispute the fact that you are a man of failures and faults because you are human, and all humans are full of failures and faults.

It’s what we do with those failures and faults that defines us, and from where I sit, my friend, you are one of the best men I know.

I have taken your words to heart. They have helped guide me, and mold me, and I’m a better writer and woman because of them. You may not realize the impact of your words, but I am proof of how much power and meaning they hold.

Please always share your beautiful, loving, dark, haunting, sometimes painful, yet always brilliant thoughts. “Who could want any less?” ❤

You are so very kind, my friend! Thank you for your words and constant support. I would argue that the only thing my words may have done is clean the mirror so you could see yourself for exactly how beautiful you are! Love you, Kristian!

We could wax philosophical all day, and you might be right, you may have helped me see what has been there all along, but that’s no small task, my friend. I can assure you they have done more than only that, however. Your words often move, encourage. And inspire. I know others feel the same way because they have said as much. Love you too, Brad!

Your words touch people, my friend. I know you are humble, but you shouldn’t underestimate their worth.

Your writing is beautiful and many think so or you wouldn’t be “Author of the Year of SpillWords, Press, NYC,” we both know that is no small accomplishment. I too have learned from you Brad and am grateful you are in our community. A lovely piece. Sending big hugs and love, Joni

  10. Who am you? I’ll take a longshot guess: Bard Parker.
