Stormy Seas
~~~
Anyone can steer when the seas are calm
And I pray your days filled with breezes just
But when the gales begin to fill your sails
Is when we find what is best in us
~~~
When whitecaps wrinkle the glassine surface
And strong winds blow against our lives
We must find the strength of right purpose
And work to determine what survives
~~~
Tossed and turned through a sleepless night
Plagued by the storms without warning
We must hold the helm ever so tight
If we hope to see the next morning
~~~
Set your eyes upon the horizon far
And lash yourself to the sturdy rail
Find the power of who you surely are
For you were always meant to sail
~~~
hang on!
Thank you, Beth! Using both hands.
This hit my heart. Iām listening to storms outside and navigating my own personal storm. Iām positively positioning myself. šš»šŖš»š„°šš¤
Stay strong, my friend! You are never alone. šš„°š¹
Thank you, Brad. ššš„°š¤ššŖš»
This is a beautiful reminder, my friend! We might not be able to control the storms, but we are the captain of our own ships! Bravo!!
Thank you, beautiful!
A metaphor for life. It’s easy to be upbeat when everything is going well, but do we have the same tenacity when facing adversity?
Thanks, Pete! You summed it up perfectly.
I am lashed to a sturdy rail, wishing the Boy Scouts taught me more about sturdy knots!
Thanks for not jumping ship, my friend!
This is beautifully written. Hopefully we are all hanging on in these rough days. Jonikins š¤
